​On May 25, 2019, the Confucius Institute at CSULB held a Chinese teacher training workshop on how to select Chinese language auxiliary teaching materials. The Confucius Institute team invited teaching experts from the Cerritos Chinese teaching and learning method team to give a lecture.

On April 24, 2019, the Confucius Institute at CSULB was invited to participate the 2019 Festival of Asian Cultures at Cerritos College. The festival brought together various community members for a celebration of the diverse cultures of Asia. The day’s events showcased performances, activity booths, workshops, free food, prizes, and giveaways.

On the afternoon of April 20, 2019, the 18th Chinese Bridge contest took place at the University of Arizona. The Chinese Proficiency Preliminary Competition featured intense language competitors from colleges and universities throughout the southwest United States.

​On February 19, 2019, the Confucius Institute at California State University, Long Beach held an annual Lunar New Year celebration at the newly completed Convention Center in the new building on campus for the College of Professional and International Education (CPIE).

On March 8, 2019, the Confucius Institute at CSULB hosted a Chinese language speech contest in collaboration with Sierra Madre Middle School and Field Elementary School. The contest was based on the theme “My View of China” (我眼中的中国), and was divided into two groups for middle school (grades 6-8) and elementary school (grades 4-5). To open the competition, Vice Principal Dr. De Bose gave a welcome speech and thanked Confucius Institute for supporting the event.

On February 22nd, Plum Canyon Elementary School in Santa Clarita launched its 2019 Chinese New Year Celebration, in cooperation with the Confucius Institute (CI) at CSULB. The event marks the first Chinese cultural festival at the school.
