‚ÄčThe Confucius Institute participated in International Mother Language Day at CSULB on March 7, 2019, which focused on calligraphy across three cultures including Iran, Japan, and China. The Linguistics Student Association and the Linguistics Department organized a variety of events on campus at the Psy Quad, which featured panels on indigenous and minority languages, workshops and games, student posters about endangered languages, raffles for prizes, and more.

The Confucius Institute set up a Chinese calligraphy booth and wrote out Chinese names for teachers and students who passed by and enjoyed the activities.
