    Required Steps to Enrollment

    Congratulations on your admission to California State University, Long Beach. Admitted international students must follow and complete the Required Steps to Enrollment listed below. It is important to read carefully and follow all the steps to aid in your transition to CSULB.

    Newly admitted students for Fall 2020 should wait for the Fall 2020 Required Steps to Enrollment, which will be made available after May 2020.

    Spring 2020 Steps to Enrollment

    1. Complete the “Next Steps” list for your academic program level
    a. Freshmen SKIP step 4 on the “Early Start Program”
    b. Overseas Transfers-Transfers from overseas institutions must register for SOAR through Ms. Xochitl Lopez at 
    2. Participate in Optional Pre-Arrival Session 
    a. Invitation will be emailed in late November for the December session.
    3. Submit Final Academic Reports & Documents to International Admissions
    a. Deadlines:
    i. Undergraduates: January 15, 2020
    ii. Graduates & Posbac: March 1, 2020 
    b. Mail documents to International Admissions (IA)
    4. Clear your Holds 
    You cannot register for classes until all your holds are cleared in your MyCSULB account hold list.

    3. I-20 Financial Documents
    4. Health Insurance
    You are required to purchase the CSULB approved health insurance coverage via JCB before registering for courses.

    Freshman and Transfers must purchase insurance before SOAR.

    5. Follow instructions on how to Receive your I-20 
    a. Submit I-20 docs: CSULB I-20 Request
    b. For questions about I-20:
    6. Immigration Check-In 
    After you arrive in the U.S. you must upload check-in documents online. Click here for instructions. 

    7. Attend Mandatory International Orientation 
    a. Orientation week begins: Monday, January 13, 2020. Click here for orientation details
