  • George MarshallThe George Marshall Favorite Instructor Award is named after the late George Marshall, a beloved and respected GLS instructor and industry icon. George was an advocate for education for his industry and made it clear to students in the GLS program that they must commit themselves to the year of training required by the program. His passion for the industry was evident in his commitment to his students, which earned him the recognition of Favorite GLS Instructor on several occasions. But his teaching extended beyond the boundaries of the classroom and teaching industry skills and know-how. For those who knew him, he also imparted his secret to life. As keynote speaker for the GLS graduation ceremony, George ended with, “The meaning of life is attitude. It is how you view life’s challenges, how you approach them, and how you deal with them.”
In 2005, the GLS Favorite Instructor Award was renamed the George Marshall Favorite Instructor Award in honor of George’s contribution to the industry and the GLS program. Each year CITT selects two GLS Instructors who demonstrate the same passion and commitment to teaching and the desire to see their students rise to their fullest potential.
