  • Bill WisenerThe Distinguished Service Award, established in 2007, is named after Bill Wisener, Principal for Wise Logistics, in recognition of individual contribution to the ongoing development of the GLS program and the industry.
For seven years, Bill taught classes for the Capstone Project in Module 6 and Integrated Logistics in Module 2 in the GLS program. As the lead instructor for the Capstone Project, he took on the role as mentor and advisor, spending countless hours guiding, advising, and educating students on how to develop an integrated logistics plan, how to work in cross-modal teams, and how to present these ideas to an industry panel.
Bill took pride great pride in watching students learn and develop. He was instrumental in implementing the oral presentation requirement for the Capstone Project, giving students an opportunity to practice important public speaking skills and to demonstrate individual contributions to a team project. He also read each team project in depth to provide detailed feedback to students in their final evaluation. He did this each week in addition to managing the demands of his business and driving to class from Carlsbad, California.
This award recognizes Bill’s commitment and dedication to ensure the high-quality program we have in the GLS today by grooming students who demonstrate excellence in the GLS Professional Designation. The award will continue to recognize those who go above and beyond for their students and for the programs we offer here at CITT.
