Workforce development is a human resources strategy that enhances a region’s economic stability and prosperity by focusing on individuals. Workforce development programs have strong ties to the community and respond rapidly to evolving workplace needs. The Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA), which took effect in 2015, is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market, while matching employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
CPIE’s Professional Programs department is dedicated to providing workers with new job skills, especially those who have been laid off or unemployed for a long time. It’s our mission to bring them back into the workforce.
