In April, the American Language Institute (ALI) welcomed its new Director, Jacqueline Record. In her position, Record oversees the administration of all ALI programs, which include semester-long, short-term, specialized, and Master of Business Administration (MBA Prep) options for international students to improve their academic English language skills.
Take a look at any successful person in any area and odds are high he or she owes some portion of the credit to good advisors. The same applies to education. As part of its efforts to further improve student success, the College of Continuing and Professional Education has added student advising to its list of services. Since October 2013 advisor Yancie Carter has been seeing students in the Student Services Center of CCPE. He comes to CSULB with a heart for students and having worked previously in the CSU system at CSULA. Read on to learn more about his passion for the field.
