  • In-Person Registration is suspended until further notice.

As we navigate the evolving impact of coronavirus on our communities, we are temporarily closing in-person registration to help limit person-to-person contact. As a result, CPIE has provided alternative registration methods for CSULB and non-CSULB students to ensure that you are still able to enroll seamlessly in your Summer Sessions courses.

Please click below to access forms for each of the the registration methods:

    Summer Sessions 2020

CSULB offers more than 700 day and evening courses, and more than 75 online courses during Summer Sessions. Many of these courses are transferable to other colleges and universities, so you can earn up to 13 units toward your degree. Registration is easy, and no formal admission to the university is required.

    • Session I (S1S, 6W1): 6 weeks, Tuesday, May 26 - Thursday, July 2, 2020
    • Full Session (SSD, 1): 12 weeks, Tuesday, May 26 - Friday, August 14, 2020
    • Session III (S3S, 6W3): 6 weeks, Monday, July 6 - Friday, August 14, 2020

Registration for current CSULB students begins on March 2, 2020.

Registration for Non-CSULB students is available via MyCSULB for students who enrolled through Open University during Fall 2019, Winter 2020, or Spring 2020. Self-service registration begins March 9, 2020.

Email and Mail-in registration begins on March 30, 2020.

Please note: Email registration is strongly encouraged.

Students who are interested in taking courses during Summer Sessions may register up until June 8, 2020 (for Session I and Full Summer Session) or July 19, 2020 (for Session III). Instructor signature is required if the course has already begun and a $25 one-time non-refundable late registration fee will be charged starting the first day of the session.

Add a Class or Change a Section

In order to add or drop a section without instructor consent, you must do so before the first class meeting. After the first class meeting, you are required to get instructor (and in some cases, department) approval to add or drop a course. The last days to add a course or to drop a course without a W are June 8, 2020 (for Session I and Full Summer Session), or July 19, 2020 (for Session III).

Ask the class instructor to approve your request. If the instructor approves your request, please submit the Summer Sessions Online Registration Form and attach the instructor's approval to the form.

If the adjustment results in additional fees, pay your increased registration fees (see Fees page).
